The Algonquin Art Centre is a Canadian art gallery in Algonquin Park. The park boasts a long tradition of wilderness art, including the famed Group of Seven. Building upon this tradition, the Algonquin Art Centre offers art programs, event, and a gallery open year-round. In the fall of 2021, the Centre presented a special exhibition of art by the Group of Seven. For this exhibit, they required a mailed brochure for advertising. The brochure needed to have at least one die cut, to include all the given copy, and to fit into an envelope. Other assets for this campaign included one t-shirt and button design. The main audience for the Centre's programs are families with children.
My design solution for the brochure was a stepped accordion that allowed many Group of Seven works to be displayed through the cover's rectangular die cut. The inside front cover prompted the reader to look through the rectangular frame to "reframe" nature as a piece of art. The idea behind this was to motivate children to explore Algonquin Park like the Group of Seven, and create their own artistic views of nature.

My design is clean and organized to reflect the Algonquin Art Centre's brand identity. I use colour and typeface styles to ease the flow of information and improve the reading experience.

This project is student work.
